The MaINliners

I made the last minute decision to take off my pumas and head off to see the mainliners play at a MOTOR-CROSS/skateboard event in sunny san clemente. I don’t go out enough so I was pushing and pulling with the idea of getting the fuck out of the house and I’m glad I did.

As I waited for the band to take to the stage I felt so PRIVILEGED to be living in southern california on this day. For that brief moment in time my problems DISAPPEARED. There were dogs, cool looking people,(some on bikes and skateboards) and even a few little kids.

we were out enjoying life, something I don’t allow myself enough after the death of my best half. doing anything remotely social takes a lot of energy and grit.

When the band started to play, the loud buzz of the guitars filled the air with raw energy and the crowd went wild. we could let loose and breathe in the music that was calling out to us.

the mainliners are a kickback to an earlier time and they play with confidence along with some teenage angst. There’s something so uplifting about watching newer bands making their mark in the music world. coming up their own thing even though some of what they do is REMINISCENt of an earlier time. long ago but not forgotten. Not. Ever. Forgotten.
