Interview: Leonard Graves Phillips The Dickies© 2023

Robert “Fysh” Silverman has a few questions for Leonard Graves Phillips for “punks”.

Fysh: In this golden age of uptight, neurotic, politically correct society, are there any Dickies songs you guys are hesitant to perform live now?

Leonard: I’m afraid to answer this one. I don’t want to mention … that one … that I agreed to sing, against my better judgment, when I was twenty years old. That’s all I’m going to say about it.

Fysh: If a kid was eager to hear The Dickies for the first time, which three songs would have them listen to?

Leonard: Boy, that’s a tough one. Ah … Make It So, Rosemary, and The Dreaded Pigasaurus.

Fysh: You’ve been clean and sober for over twenty years. What was the impetus for deciding to leave the drugs and booze behind you?

Leonard: Abject poverty and misery.

Fysh: The Three Stooges or The Marx Brothers?

Leonard: W.C. Fields.
