There were overdoses, suicides, and vicious rapes, and yet that didn’t stop us from making Hollywood our home base. I wasn’t affected first-hand, so I roamed the streets naïve to the dangers that lurked around every corner.
Even though I came from a financially secure background and was luckier than some of my friends, I still related to the underdog. These street kids were my peers, and I relished being around them for their unique perspectives.
