Q: Have you ever considered yourself a punk and if so, what inspired you to be a musician? Is that a lame question?!

A: I’m not a ‘proper musician’.. there were no lessons, but despite the unorthodox technique I try to play my best, and enjoy stretching things – so of course.. there is gonna be the odd ‘jazz note’ here and there. Luckily for me virtuoso musicianship wasn’t required in ‘76.. and a tendency towards the chaotic side of things was another plus in my favour. I count myself incredibly lucky that punk arrived at exactly the right time to save me from a lifetime on the bottom rung of life’s ladder.
