In times of desperation, people are driven to acts based on survival. At times, these acts may conflict with personal values, however, the ‘survival instinct’ will crush “personal values” when given the opportunity. This is a story of three people driven to an act out desperation and how it changed the course of their lives forever.
I cannot pinpoint the date our story began; it resides in the blurry corners of my memory. It was at, or shortly after, the final days of Godzilla’s in 1982. In hindsight, it seems almost as if the collapse of Godzilla’s was like a metaphor for our lives. The
unraveling of our existence was increasing exponentially; each week seeing us less connected to the world. As the days passed and the nights became longer, we found ourselves running out of places to stay, ways to get around, and food to eat…
