Back then, we were all still pogoing, and possibly getting up on stage, but no one was slam dancing. The Orange Country crews brought the slamming and the pit with them. Up until this time, you could see Fear, Geza X aka Geza Gideon, and the Go-Go’s at the Starwood, all in one
show. Later, the bands would be booked separately. Once I saw the Dead Kennedys, it was all about punk rock for me.
After that, I experimented with acid. Animal was infamous in the L.A. punk scene for his love of acid amongst other things. We bonded over acid at Mohawk Manor. Mohawk Manor was an apartment located on Argyle, past Franklin, in Hollywood. Mohawk Shirley rented the apartment, while she was working for a lawyer. She covered her Mohawk while she was at work.
I met lots of people at Mohawk Manor; Tony, Lisa, and Lori just to name a few. Lulu aka Olive Oil rented an apartment by the Hollywood Bowl. One night, Animal came out of the bathroom, with FEAR carved backward on his forehead. Lulu was kicked out of that apartment after we all took too much acid and started writing all over the walls.
