Captain sensible for crime and punkishment

PERLIN: Have you ever considered yourself a punk and if so, what inspired you to be a musician? Is that a lame question?

SENSIBLE: I’m not a ‘proper musician’. There were no lessons, but despite the unorthodox technique, I try to play my best and enjoy stretching things, so, of course, there is gonna be the odd ‘jazz note’ here and there. Luckily for me, virtuoso musicianship wasn’t required in ’76 and a tendency towards the chaotic side of things was another plus in my favour. I count myself incredibly lucky that punk arrived at exactly the right time to save me from a lifetime on the bottom rung of life’s ladder.
